In this lesson the students think about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples approaches to sustainability, and their connection to country. Students learn about their use of resources from the land, in particular bush foods. The lesson includes guided research on the Kakadu Bininj and Munguuy Peoples and their environment. Fieldwork with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experts is an included activity. Geographical tools of maps, fieldwork and visual representations are used. The geographical concepts addressed are place, space, environment, interconnection and sustainability.
