In this lesson, students will review and analyse the origin and significance of Australia day; our national day. They will locate and collect information about National days around the world in the National Days eBook and develop an understanding of why these days are observed.
They will also compare and contrast two national days and record their findings and inquire into other national days around the world, discovering which countries do not observe national days and why.
The key concepts addressed in this lesson are sources, significance and empathetic understanding.
