An investigation into the journey the convicts made. Students continue the comic strip, this time finding and adding the trip’s chronological and geographical data to the story. Using the database search skills developed previously, they then pose and seek to answer a research question relating to the convict passengers. Scaffolding is provided for refining questions. In the blue square activity, students analyse a journal entry from the trip, while the black diamond activities further develop students’ information gathering skills.
