Students develop their understanding of migration and its impact on the development of Australia as a nation. They research the Australian government policies of migration in the 20th century and how this contributed to changes in the Australian population.
Students study the stories of people who migrated to Australia and the reasons they migrated.
They compare the push and pull factors that contribute to a person’s decision to migrate.
They explore individual narratives using primary sources including interviewing and recording oral histories. They connect stories of migration to their own families.
