Overview

This unit introduces students to celebrations and commemorations observed globally and here in Australia. Implementing collaborative learning strategies and adopting visible thinking activities, the students will gain a knowledge of historical concepts and skills such as significance, perspective and empathy. Using these historical tools, the students will be guided through numerous inquiry processes, expanding their knowledge and comprehension of cultural diversity and the origins and significance of celebrations and commemorations from around the world.
