Overview

In this unit, students learn about what life was like for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Peoples before their first contacts with European explorers. They learn about the diversity of language groups and consider ATSI People’s long connection to Country. They also develop their research skills through a study of pre-contact ways of life; practising information gathering and then synthesising this in a report for others.
Please note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers and viewers are advised that the following resources may contain images and voices of people who have died.
